Despite the growing literature, no systematic review has been carried out to summarize and synthesize the empirical studies that have examined factors associated with green cosmetics purchase intention and green cosmetics purchase behavior. This study aims to fill this gap.

Polysorbate 20 or PEG-20 sorbitan monolaurate is a very important chemical raw material and is produced by many regional and international companies. This non-ionic surfactant has a high HLB of 16.7 and exhibits excellent solubilizing and emulsifying properties. Polysorbate 20 is produced, based on natural vegetable raw materials, is highly biodegradable in the environment and has low toxicity to living organisms. Ethoxylated sorbitan monolaurate has a very low level of irritation to the skin and mucous membranes and is a dermatologically mild surfactant. The use of polysorbate 20 in various products is based on a complex of its useful properties, the main of which, of course, is the ability to dissolve such hydrophobic compounds as essential oils, fragrances, low-polarity solvents, dyes, drugs, etc. in water to obtain colloidal solutions. Polysorbate 20 is widely used in cosmetics and household chemicals.
