Diploma of Personal Care Formulation
The most comprehensive approach to teaching the formulation of safe, stable and efficacious personal care products for the hair, hands, body and face, including specialty and highly active products. Learners are taught how to prepare a variety of personal care products and develop products based on the latest industry advances. On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
• develop safe, stable and effective formulas for a range of personal care products
• provide technical documents to support the safety, stability and performance claims of a product
• develop products from a product development brief and communicate necessary changes
• accommodate industry innovations into formulations without impacting on stability
• reverse engineer and/or adapt formulations to suit company requirements
• satisfy safety and regulatory obligations in the development of cosmetic and personal care products
Certificate in Advanced Cosmetic Science
This course is designed as a condensed version of our Diploma of Personal Care Formulation. It is ideal for those who have been working in the personal care industry and/or have a qualification in science, chemistry, pharmacy or allied health profession wanting to enhance their skills and knowledge specific to personal care and cosmetic formulation development, essential quality control and shelf life determination FAST. On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
• develop safe, stable and effective formulas for a wide range of personal care products including facial, body and hair care products and those for men, babies and aged skin including lotions, creams, balms, cleansers, body washes, exfoliants, shampoos and conditioners
• conduct microbiological evaluations of raw materials, finished products, equipment and the facility
• be able to implement GMP techniques into their manufacturing facility to ensure quality end product
• be able to investigate quality issues and implement appropriate techniques to correct and prevent quality issues
• be able to prepare and implement stability protocols and identify stability enhancing methods
• be able to determine shelf life of products through running appropriate stability programs
Diploma of Personal Care Development & Promotion
Developed to enhance successful development and promotion of your company’s product offerings, this Diploma has a strong emphasis on marketing, positioning and pricing cosmetic and personal care products and promotions effectively in order to maximize sales and profits. It also provides the knowledge to ensure all legislative requirements are met for advertising compliance. On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
• theoretically develop products with unique points of difference in line with company philosophy and needs
• develop and/or re-develop products to more satisfactorily meet target market needs and take company brands to the next level
• confidently prepare and implement various marketing strategies for a variety of cosmetic and personal care products
