According to Euromonitor, the global cosmetics and personal care market size was valued at RMB 500 billion in 2019 and is expected to register a CAGR of 5% from 2019 to 2024. And in 2019 alone, China’s cosmetics market registered a 9% growth, which was higher than the global average.

Meanwhile, despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, China’s cosmetics and personal care market has bounced back quickly. A recent report by China Association of Fragrance Flavor and Cosmetic Industries (CAFFCI) indicated a healthy resumption of production and capacity among businesses, as well as a 19% year-on-year growth rate for the sector.

With the new Cosmetics Supervision and Administration Regulation (CSAR) coming into effect in January 2021, requirements like the registration of new cosmetic ingredients, new provisions for safety assessment, and the need to publish scientific evidence to back efficacy claims will bring significant changes to the cosmetics market.

Occupying an exhibition area of over 45,000m2, PCHi 2021 is set to welcome more than 30,000 trade professionals, featuring over 600 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions.

The highly anticipated PCHi Industry Annual Conference 2021 will feature a series of keynote presentations on the latest innovations and trends, followed by in-depth, elective sessions on topics such as technology, policies and regulations, market trends, clinical medicine, and R&D formulation.
