XIX International Scientific-Practical Conference «Cosmetic Industry: Envision the Future»

International Scientific-Practical Conference «Cosmetic Industry: Envision the Future» took place for a nineteenth time in Moscow on October 20-23, 2014. It was organized by Perfumery and Cosmetics Association of Russia.  

Once again, the conference brought together more than 400 Russian and foreign specialists engaged in the production, development, distribution and evaluation of the quality of perfume and cosmetic products and raw materials.

During 4 days of conference 58 reports were being presented on such relevant topics as legal changes in the industry, new ingredients for cosmetics and household products, modern technologies and evaluation of products efficiency, market trends, neuroscience and neuromarketing in the perfume and cosmetics industry.

Presentations about new ingredients and developments in cosmetic formulations were presented by Dow Corning, Croda, CP Kelco, Troy Chemical Company, Alban Muller International, Clariant, Markell Group Company, Symrise, BASF, Lubrizol, Cornelius Group, Wacker Chemie Rus, HSH Chemie, Leko Style, Ros-Chimia, Roxor Industry, schülke, Seppic, Provital, Merck Group, Sederma, Evonik Industries, Solvay Vostok, Greentech, Schill+Seilacher, Innospec, IMCD Russia, Ashland Specialty Ingredients, Revada, etc.

Special guest of the conference was Professor Karl Lintner, president of KAL’IDEES, the world’s leading expert in the field of peptides. He made a report about the role of peptides in modern cosmetology, methods of proving the efficiency of their actions and statements to consumers.

In exhibition program «Info-Stand» took part manufacturers and distributors of ingredients for the perfume and cosmetic products on the Russian market. The Best Technologist Contest was held for the sixth time. Once again a major international fragrance house CPL Aromas and supplier of fragrances and raw materials for cosmetics NovaCom were the sponsors of this Contest. The participants were 21 technologists of Russian manufacturers of cosmetics such as Concern Kalina, Avanta, Mirra, Faberlic, CM Michel, Biolit, KorolevPharm, Realcosmetics, SPLAT and others.

Each participant made face lifting serum with one of the three fragrances presented by sponsors. The overall winner was Elena Isaeva from SPLAT. General Director of NovaCom Nina Demenok and Sales Manager of CPL Aromas William Hamilton invited the winner to the Summer Ball for partners and VIP-clients of CPL Aromas, which will be held in July 2015 in Barrington Hall — the company’s headquarters in England.

During the conference was held a Young Scientists Contest for young specialists of cosmetic industry under the age of 28 years. The winner was Christina Kaliush, a student of Kuban State Technological University with her research paper on a topic "Shampoo for dry and severely damaged hair".

On 23th of October, 2014 was held a brand new program "Neuromarketing: how does it work on the cosmetics market?", organized jointly by PCAR and Institute of Neuroscience and Cognitive Studies of Sholokhov Moscow State University for the Humanities.

Among the speakers were the world-class experts in the field of neuroscience and neuromarketing — Professor Bert Martin Ohnemuller – founder and executive director of Neuromerchandisinggroup GmbH &CO.KG, who is successfully developing a new approach of the shelf display, and Professor Francis McGlone, director at NeuroSciLtd, one of the world leaders in the study of tactile perception of product.

Listeners learned about the new highly informative methods of testing products using psychophysiological and psychosomatic techniques as well as how to increase the efficiency of advertising and make product packaging more attractive, how to evaluate the efficiency of placing information on the website and much more.
