Recognizing Innovation and R&D Contributions

First introduced in 2017, the PCHi Fountain Awards strives to reward the industry and spur it towards advancing research capabilities and developing cutting-edge technologies. Earlier this evening, RSE recognized leading beauty companies for their innovation and technology development in an Awards Ceremony at The Westin Pazhou.

This year, RSE received a record total of 147 nominations (a 43% increase from 2018) across the five Award categories. Entries were assessed against standardized criteria by a judging panel — which was expanded and saw partial rotation this year — comprising senior experts from prestigious universities and scientific institutes, leading R&D figures from renowned organizations (e.g. Shiseido, Estée Lauder, Beiersdorf, China Association Fragrance, Flavor and Cosmetic Industries [CAFFCI], China Food and Drug Administration [CFDA]), as well as industry experts from PCHi’s Cosmetics Science & Technology Innovation Committee (CSTIC).

Joe ZHOU, Vice President at RSE, shared, “Three years into the Fountain Awards, and the overwhelming response we’ve received from the industry is very encouraging. Our judges had a hard time selecting finalists from the pool of strong entries, and we’d like to thank everyone who took part — for the contributions that each company makes to the industry. Even as we celebrate the winning entries tonight, we look forward to being a catalyst for even more sophisticated and creative offerings in the years to come.”
