Linden – Russian Soul in Cosmetics. How is the Plant Useful in Skin Care

The qualitative composition of linden flower extract is described. The main components of the extract are flavonoids, tannins, vitamin C, tiliroside, quercetin, astragalin, kaempferol, etc. Based on linden flower extract (mainly CO2 extract), it is used in the production of serums, creams, masks for the eyelid area; shampoos, balms, hair masks; thermal water; bath foam; shower gel and liquid soap for hands and body, etc. The main properties of linden flower extract for the skin are moisturizing, nutrition and soothing, maintaining its elasticity.

Tecoma Stans Flower Extract: Potential for Use in Anti-Aging Cosmetics

The search for promising plants to be introduced into cosmetics is primarily based on the study of their properties. Researchers from Thailand decided to extract extracts from the flowers of the Tecoma stans plant to explore their potential in cosmetics. A study published in the journal Cosmetics 2024, 11(6), was aimed at uncovering the antioxidant and anti-aging properties of extracts obtained by maceration with various solvents.

Autophagy-Activating Dipeptide PTPD-12. Potential in Reducing Skin Sensitivity

People with sensitive skin face various difficulties. Such skin needs careful care, including the selection of mild cleansing and cosmetic products, protection from the sun, wind and other negative environmental factors. A modern approach to reducing skin sensitivity, soothing it and restoring barrier functions is possible by activating the autophagy process. Researchers from Republic of Korea are studying the role of exposure to peptides on the activation of autophagy in skin cells, which allows «to weaken inflammatory reactions caused by UV radiation or pollution exposure.» A recent study by the authors (Sohee Eun et al.) Investigations in vitro and ex vivo was conducted on human skin explant models to assess the potential of pentanatrium tetracarboxymethyl palmitoyl dipeptide-12 (PTPD-12), activating autophagy.
