Calendula Flower Extracts: Evaluation of Properties, UVB Protection, and Potential for Sun Care
Most manufacturers of cosmetics are attentive to the development of formulations with components that protect against UV rays (with SPF protection factors). Scientific research on the search for new ways or products of UV protection continues. Of course, scientists from hot countries aim to protect the skin from the scorching rays of the sun. The work of researchers from Morocco (Najlae El-Otmani et al.; Cosmetics 2024, 11(6), 216) emphasizes that skin protection from UV has long been crucial because of its role in photo-aging, sunburn and wrinkles. The authors investigated the properties of the extracts and sunscreen with Calendula arvensis capitula extracts.
Polymers in Depilation Waxes
Borisevich O., Cosmetologist, Head of the Shelk face & body care Studio, Minsk, Republic of Belarus
This paper examines the role of polymers and copolymers in depilatory waxes, with the objective of identifying the most effective components affecting the quality and safety of these products. The study is based on a systematic review of the literature, including recent scientific articles and patents on the use of polymers in waxes. The findings indicate that polymers play a pivotal role in enhancing the properties of waxes. However, there is a paucity of studies that have sought to elucidate their impact on safety and efficacy. Consequently, the necessity for further research in this domain to facilitate the development of more efficacious depilatory products is underscored.
