Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE, INCI: Dimethyl MEA) is a promising active ingredient for anti-aging cosmetics, possessing membrane-stabilizing, antioxidant and lifting effects. This article examines the mechanisms of DMAE action at the cellular level, analyzes the scientific basis of its effectiveness, and provides a detailed comparison of two main forms– bitartrate (powder) and citrate (liquid form). Special attention is paid to the unpleasant odor problem of the powder form and its solution. It is shown that the liquid form of DMAE citrate provides higher technological stability and cost-effectiveness.
