Автозагар: новое вещество может индуцировать производство меланина в коже без ультрафиолета

After 10 years of research, scientists from the Harvard Medical School have come up with a drug that could help people tan without exposure to the sun, thus potentially reducing the risk of skin cancer. Unlike traditional self-tanning creams, which only change the color of superficial skin layers, the new substance stimulates melanocytes, the cells that produce melanin, the pigment that absorbs ultra-violet light. However, the new molecule still needs to pass further tests to safeguard against potential side-effects in humans.
