REVADA offers Clearsoft LL (INCI: Lauryl Lactate), a multifunctional natural liquid ingredient derived from renewable sources, which can be used in both rinse-off and leave-on personal care products. This natural ester, obtained through a reaction of fatty alcohol and lactic acid, has the advantage of being nitrogen-, salt-, EO- and PEG-free. Clearsoft LL is used as a thickener for Sulfate-free & EO-free formulations with stable viscosity in a wide range of pH and temperatures. It also can be used as an emollient in skin care formulations providing light after-feel and low oiliness. Besides its emollience, Clearsoft LL allows the solubilization of higher quantities of some common UV-filters than standard solubilizers and suitable for Sun Care creams.

Green Chelates: Key Components for Effectiveness

The reasons are given why the transition from traditional chelates (mainly EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) and its salts (disodium, trisodium, tetrasodium)) to «green», biodegradable ones- tetrasodium glutamate diacetate (GLDA), MGDA (methylglycinediacetic acid, trisodium dicarboxymethyl alanine (MGDANa3)), IDS (iminodisuccinic acid, (IDSNa4), tetrasodium iminodisuccinate), EDDS (ethylenediamine-N, N’-disuccinic acid, trisodium ethylenediaminedisuccinate) is promising and necessary. GLDA stands out among the «green» chelates. It is highly versatile and maintains high effectiveness in alkaline formulations (e.g., soap, hair dyes, and even industrial chemicals, such as alkaline dishwasher detergent) and high-temperature applications.
